Digital Detox Research

  • Participants will set aside their smartphones for three weeks and use a the Light Phone II designed with only essential functions—calls, texts, and other basic tools.

  • This research seeks to understand how a temporary digital detox influences well-being, social connections, and daily habits.

  • Participants will take part in brief weekly interviews via zoom to reflect on their experience.

    All responses remain anonymous, and the focus is on authentic insights rather than performance or expectation.

    • Three Weeks, One Phone → You’ll set aside your smartphone and use the Light Phone II only.

    • Keep It Simple → Try not to fill the space with extra screen time on laptops or tablets.

    • Weekly Check-ins → We’ll meet once a week for a short conversation to reflect on your experience.

    • Be Honest → There’s no right or wrong experience here. The goal is your real, unfiltered, and authentic story.

    • Know the Limits → The Light Phone II doesn’t have live GPS, social media, or email. It’s built for calls and texts only.
